COLOR RENDERING INDEX – CRI
The color rendering index (CRI or Ra) is used to measure how well an artificial white light sources illuminates color. It’s not a measurement of brightness but an indication of how sharp colors will appear under a specific light source, and it is measured on a scale from 0 to 100.
CRI is a parameter that indicates the fidelity of the color rendering of the illuminated object. The maximum ideal value of CRI is 100. Values less than 70 are to be avoided as indices of a poor color rendering, while higher values correspond to a good color rendering.
For all application where color appearance is important, (as clothing stores, shopping centers, jewelers, museums, print shops, beauty shops,hairdressers…) the CRI consideration is very relevant and will make the difference.
Most of the LED sources handled by Proso Lighting achieve high CRI values. Thanks to the continuous technological development of LED light sources, high CRI values becomes a standard for the professional sector. A high color rendering index value is the best choice, ever, because is able to reproduce the real colors of the things.
